Wonderful family tour!

My husband and I did the farm tour last week while visiting Vermont and it was an all-around absolutely wonderful experience as I knew it would be the moment, I read about it.

We were having a hard time fitting it in our schedule and from the very start Amy could not have been any nicer to communicate with and went out of her way to accommodate us.

To see and hear firsthand all about the love and sweat that goes into doing what they do was incredibly inspiring to say the least. We are already into holistic/ healthy living and organic foods, however having our own in depth personal tour was amazing and enlightening.

We learned all about the long history of the farm. We got to see all the different crops currently growing, as well as learn in detail what had been rotated and why.

We picked fresh fruit and vegetables and ate them right there. We then went to the sugar house where Dave was working and between both Amy and Dave we learned so much about the maple sugar making process and then tasted the fresh syrup.

We learned more about hydroponics and viewed an incredible hydroponic operation.

After that we toured Amy’s medicinal herb and flower gardens and got to pick and smell some of the various plants which were heavenly.

And last but not least we picked apples right off the tree and went up to the field to see and learn more about Amy’s beautiful horses and give them their treats.

We could not have asked for or pictured a more beautiful, peaceful day.

Amy is a truly gifted, engaging and inspiring teacher that is clearly passionate about what she does. We had so many constant questions and she never ever tired of them. (At least not that we could tell lol) We have incredible respect for what Dave and Amy do every single day, and it was truly a pleasure to meet them.

We will most definitely be back on our next trip to Vermont and would love to do a retreat there in the future as well.

We highly recommend this tour for anyone and everyone. Everyone should welcome the opportunity to get up close and personal and learn about organic agriculture, see where their food comes from, understand and respect what it takes to make it in the first place and why it is so important to grow local and buy local.

Take your children, take yourselves. You will be so happy you did. Thank you Amy & Dave for doing what you do!

Recently, our group visited this amazing facility, and it was a fantastic experience.

Our group consisted of 10 teenage girls, as well as adult chaperones, and we ALL loved every minute of being on the farm.

We can’t thank you all enough for being so very kind. Our girls are still talking about how wonderful this experience was for them.

Thank you once again for the wonderful and educational tour. It was beyond expectation...and the students really did enjoy it. I look forward to continuing this connection and the possibility of engaging more students at a later date.

We really enjoyed our brief tour (approx 2.5hrs). Amy was very helpful and knowledgeable about organic and hydroponic farming. Very education and a very nice stop while in the area. Great lunch provided also. We learned a lot about commercial hydroponic farming. Thank you for a great morning.

My girlfriend and I took a tour and had a hand made lunch after. The food was amazing and Amy and her husband were incredibly nice, we’ve never been on a farm tour before but would highly recommend you do it! The vegetables and fruits were all fresh, can’t wait to come back again next year!

We did a tour in June 2018. My family really enjoyed it. It was a wonderfully unique time and we enjoyed learning about the farm, tasting vegetables and picking flowers.

I have sent several of my clients out with Amy this past season for an authentic Vermont farm visit. Not only has the experience been great for my clients, but Amy is extremely professional and easy to work with as well. I would highly recommend for anyone visiting the Mad River Valley.

This was an awesome treat during our Vermont stay. As a family interested in learning more about organic food production and herbal gardens, the tour exceeded our expectations. Much of this has to do with Amy being a great host, and willing to answer our MANY questions too. :) Big thanks to Dave as well for his cameo drop-ins. Hopefully we can return next time for strawberry picking.

My husband, daughters and I did the tour and lunch with Amy and to say we had an AMAZING experience would be an understatement. From the moment we pulled up to the farm we were greeted and welcomed. Dave came over and was chatting with us and telling us amazing things about the farm, the beautiful murals, and all things farm related. Amy’s tour was magical. It truly gave you an insiders look at what farmers do, how the world is a better place with farmers, and how we each should pay homage to farmers. Amy explains everything in great detail, we got to try a bunch of delicious things throughout the tour and my daughters got to pick some eggplant with Dave. The lunch at the end was a real treat and delicious. To know what you are consuming are the fruits of their labor was truly inspiring. I say, don’t walk, RUN to this tour. Let this experience fill you up because it’s MAGICAL! Thank you Amy and Dave! We plan to visit you with each visit we take to VT!

Amy provided me and my group an excellent visit and farm tour. Our group of six included a few kids, and she included a number of fun kid-friendly activities that kept everyone involved and learning. We were delighted to learn more about organic and hydroponic agriculture, and the experience was topped off with a delicious on-farm lunch. Thank you, Amy, for the excellent experience!

We had an amazing time with Amy. She was lovely and the tour was very interesting. Kids were super happy with the pick up (vegetables and berries), and I was glad to see that my 7y old daughter looks at vegetables very differently now: she hates veggies but when it’s good it’s good! Now we say “have piece of this zucchini, they are organic like Amy’s ones” and she goes for it!

The hydroponic culture was more for adults but still very interesting.

The best part is still the maple syrup (no more pancakes with industrial chocolate paste, and the kids want only this maple syrup), organic and with a sweet (kind of honey) delicate flavour.

And the road to get there is simply breathtaking.

Great memories!
